History & Experience

allVeteranGreatShotFounded in 1989, Mary and Laddie Flock opened a new chapter in their lives, as well as in the rock industry. Leaving the usual business attire behind, the Flocks decided to leave the corporate world and pursue an American Dream…the opportunity of owning their own business. During the early years Natural Rock Formations, Inc. searched locally for unique stone. Thus, they began to experiment and see what can be done with stone. Without much heavy machinery, and with the power of human strength, they would begin the construction of their natural rock formations. As the years passed, their hard work and dedication finally began to pay off. Because of the involvement that Natural Rock Formations had with the rockscaping at the J. Paul Getty Museum, they were featured on the front page of the Wall Street Journal in July of 1995.

Today Natural Rock Formations, Inc. offers one-on-one consultation as well as custom stone supply that you will not find anywhere else.  Whether you are doing a high end commercial project, or your own stone feature in the private residential setting, we are here to help.  Our projects span throughout California and the US, we love what we do, supplying custom stone to people with an artistic vision.  We have worked side by side with architects, designers, artists, as well as the average homeowner while helping them transform the vision into reality.  You can take a tour and view some of our natural stone projects, featured at the California State Capitol - Sisters of Mercy memorial, or if in the Stockton or Lodi area - you might stop by the Lodi Veteran's Plaza, or perhaps take a trip to Wine & Roses Resort and view our stonework throughout.  In Stockton, we have many feautures, including a public artwork at the San Joaquin County Building.  If in the Los Angeles area, don't forget to stop by the J. Paul Getty Museum where you will see some of our beautiful stonework, such as the central water feature.

Make an appointment to visit our private gardens…throughout your visit, relax and take a moment for yourself. While enjoying the visit, you will have a chance to view first-hand the beauty of natural rockscapes.

We invite you to take a tour and imagine the endless possibilities.
